Kinesiology means study of movement. It is the means by which blocks in the body’s life energy (Qi) can be identified and cleared. The tool which is used to identify this process is muscle testing. Illness is caused by blockages in the flow of Qi. Kinesiology can identify these blockages and by using any one of a number of techniques can bring the body back to a state of balance or correct energy flow.

One of the blocks which may affect the body’s flow of Qi is food. Eating the wrong foods for your body, even if these are considered ‘healthy’, can cause symptoms which create feelings of ‘dis-ease’ in the body. To explain the energy imbalances caused by food, we use certain terminology such as allergies, intolerances or sensitivities. An Allergy creates symptoms which are severe and immediate and can be life threatening. There would be no doubt at all as to what had caused the symptoms, as in the case of the much publicised nut allergy. Intolerance is just that. The inability of the body to tolerate certain foods which could cause bloating, gas, abdominal pain, constipation and/or diarrhea. Sensitivity is more subtle and can cause seemingly unrelated problems such as headaches, sleep disturbances, hyperactivity, skin problems or unexplained aches and pains. As a kinesiologist, I do not work with allergies, which require medical attention. Using muscle testing, I can, however, identify intolerance and sensitivities and give advice on how to deal with these.

We do not only work with imbalances caused by good. There are many conditions which can be helped by regular energy balancing using Applied Kinesiology such as
